Madrigals Etc

Madrigals Etc is a predominantly vocal music group based in Bangalore, India. Formed in 1999 by Neecia Majolly and George Kurian, the group has won the appreciation of audiences within and outside Bangalore. Bringing together some of the most talented musicians in the city, the choir is considered one of the best in India and is perhaps the only choir which specializes in Renaissance music in India.
Over the years Madrigals, Etc has performed both popular and rare works, vocal and instrumental, of this era. Composers include Thomas Morley, Thomas Bateson, Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, and many more... Uninitiated Renaissance music audiences have developed a taste for this era after performances of Madrigals, Etc. fulfilling the dream of the director, Neecia Majolly, of promoting Renaissance music among music lovers in this country. The group has performed to rave reviews, both publicly and privately. During 2009, Madrigals Etc went on an India-wide tour, covering Bangalore, Calcutta, Mysore and Coimbatore. The group has also made a CD-recording - The Renaissance Begins - released October 2009 which is believed to be the first Western Classical album released in India.
In February 2011, Madrigals Etc performed a programme of baroque music, including music by Vivaldi, Purcell, Monteverdi and Bach, and took the concert to Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
